ECK Doula

The beginning of early care

What is a Doula?

A doula provides both expecting mothers and new mom's with the emotional support and information needed during pregnancy as well as postpartum.  Being pregnant can be an exhausting and confusing time for mothers to be and even more challenging once your newborn has arrived.  Doula's are a true gift to a family during these transitional times and are prepared to give that extra support whenever called upon.

Is A Doula a Midwife?

A doula is not a midwife.  A midwife is certified health professional that can assist in the delivery of your baby at home or hospital.  A doula has taken a training program and passed an exam on how to assist families with all their needs during this exciting time.  A doula does not deliver babies.  Think of your doula as your personal pregnancy assistant.
